David Beattie is the Director of Facilities at The Arc of the South Shore. He is responsible for overseeing each of our facilities including our main office in Hingham, Early Intervention Program, Day Habilitation Program, Community-Based Day Services Program, and all of our residential group homes. Responsibilities as the Director of Facilities include maintenance, repairs, inspections, and ensuring each building is compliant with state standards. David joined The Arc in 2023 and is also a member of our Safety Committee, a role very important for each of our employees. Before joining The Arc, David worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Department of Public Health, spending 26 years at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital and 4 years at the State Laboratory, serving as the Director of Facilities in both roles. He also continues to do consulting for the Commonwealth in his free time. In addition to his substantial experience as a Facilities Director, David also holds a Heavy Equipment Operators License and a Home Improvement Contractors License. David’s passion for The Arc’s mission stems from his personal, familial connections to the autism community. His passion for bettering the lives of individuals with disabilities shows through his work each day.
