Each two-hour session will incorporate one music therapy class with a board-certified therapist AND one yoga class run by an experienced special needs instructor. An Arc Behaviorist will support each group. Students will enjoy making music with others and will then also learn relaxation and self-regulation techniques in a calming yoga class. All activities can and will be modified/adapted for all abilities, allowing all individuals to engage and successfully participate in the group. The cost is $20 per session
In addition, we will also be offering an Occupational Therapy/Sensory Art Workshop. An Occupational Therapist and Art Instructor will provide your child with the opportunity to build fine motor, sensory motor and visual/perceptual skills while exploring and creating a work of art. The cost is $10 per session.
Little Bee Yoga is fun-filled and motivates children to be active, build confidence, and manage the spectrum of emotions in their day-to-day activities. It is stress management for kids! It incorporates cardio conditioning, fun music to teach the children the traditional benefits of yoga: meditation, breathing techniques, peace and relaxation.
ConnectAbilities Studio for the Arts incorporates the Reggio Emilia approach where children are seen as independent, competent, and capable learners. Individuals with “special needs” are seen through the lens of diversity. Inclusive activities are the most effective way to promote tolerance, patience, empathy and understanding…preparing children to become successful members of a diverse society. Projects are based on the curiosities and interests of the individuals and emerge through teacher-designed provocations, open-ended materials, and discussions, inquiries, engagement, and experimentation.
Cheeretta Fitness helps children and teens with disabilities to move in new and fun ways! This energetic uplifting class has many fitness benefits, although the smiles are often the best benefit of all! Individuals exercise at their own pace to strengthen both upper and lower body while listening to upbeat, energizing music.
We are committed to making our program affordable and accessible to all. Please contact us in the case of financial hardship.
