Families who receive a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for their child are faced with a confusing and sometimes frightening future that feels isolating and overwhelming. Their need for support and training is essential during all stages of the journey that comes with this diagnosis. The support groups will help families better understand and respond to the complex nature of ASD.
The Autism Resource Center offers a monthly support group for parents and caretakers of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) who are faced with a confusing and uncertain future that often feels isolating and overwhelming. There is a critical need for information and guidance through all stages of the ASD journey. The support group is designed to help families better understand and deal with the many complex issues that arise by building a supportive network and sharing resources. Groups are facilitated by an experienced professional/ASD parent and are held on the fourth Monday of each month from 6 pm to 8 pm at the First Early Intervention building at 574 Main Street in Weymouth.
Childcare is available at no charge. Sign up by 5pm on the 3rd Friday of the month by emailing Diane Wilcox at firstname.lastname@example.org.
